We've done a lot of sailing and entertained a lot of visitors from all over the world this winter and spring. We also hauled the boat out, and with help from Rick & Mary Jane, sanded and painted the hull and bottom. What a difference! The Florida sun takes a toll on the black hull. Cleaning up after took almost as long as the sanding and painting. We looked like coal miners and/or chimney sweeps. Ondine is looking good now, and more painting is ongoing, but at the dock.between sails.
We got to be a part of two marriage proposals, some birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas gifts. Every sail has a different and interesting story.
Brendan is in Washington state, working as a mate on SV Carlyn, a 61 ft sailing vessel that teaches middle and high school students about science and sailing in Puget Sound.
Come on, let's go sailing!
