We continue to meet extraordinary people from all over the world. It's a great thing to share stores and learn about people and places that we've never seen.
Our own deckhands extraordinaire, Brendan and Rebecca, have passed the Coast Guard Captain's test. Brendan also took and passed the Master's test. Brendan is anxiously awaiting his license; Rebecca is awaiting her 18th birthday so she can submit her paperwork.
We've had some opportunity to break out the fisherman sail, and we're learning how best to make it work.
We're all looking for the cooler winds of October at this point in the summer. So far, not much in the way of tropical storms, for which we are grateful. We are coming up on September, historically the most active month for hurricanes in our part of the world, so we're keeping our fingers crossed.
New Smyrna Beach was a busy place all summer. Things have quieted down this week, with the beginning of the school year in Florida. We're happy to take a breath before things pick up again in the fall.
